Blog PAR-TAY!

Well, I've been uber-procratinating my bloggage lately but there's nothing better than an awesome contest to get my rear in gear!! I came across the 5 Minutes for Mom site and I was thoroughly impressed! They have been having a blog party since March 7th and it looks like such a fun time for socialization-starved mamas out there in Webland! Who doesn't LOOOOVE a party, ESPECIALLY when you don't have to vacuum, dust, or scrub anything ahead of time?!

Let me introduce myself:
I'm Erika, an almost 29-year-old SAHM to Kira and Marcus (and wifey to my fabulous, farmin' hubby, Fred). I'm a complete newbie to the blogging community and am constantly awestruck by the amazing words, photos, and crafts I see on some of my favorite blogs. I love being a mom but also wanted to maintain a piece of myself by getting some thoughts down in this little electronic world for posterity. My mom died a year ago and made me realize that I want to leave some words for my children and all their kiddos and so on...

With that said, I'll leave you with my MUST-HAVES from the prize list!!
1) A Blog Makeover by Shauna for See My Designs (#67). As you can see, my blog is PBLTHHHT!! in the beauty department...a little pick-me-up would be nice and I LOOOVE Shauna's simple but fun style!

2) 50 Cards for Any Occasion by Polka Dot Bumblebee (#78). WOWZA! I love these designs and they are very reasonably priced. Already thinking about Christmas cards...YIKES!

3) 12 x 12" Custom Wall Canvas by JuJu Beane Boutique (#14). Welllll, my son is almost a year old and he still has nothing on his walls...sad, sad, sad! He has a surfer theme in his room and I am loving all of the surf-related prints at JuJu Beane!

Other really great items (in order of dying-to-win-this urgency!):
#7, #137, #117, #119, #96, #87.

Now I'm off to meet some new mamas in Blogsville...THANKS to 5 Minutes For Mom for their great site and blog party. Time to get the PAR-TAY started!!

Hi Erika,

That's a really neat reason for blogging - to write down your thoughts for your children to read in the future. That's the first time I've heard that from a blogger.

Hope you have fun at the party, there are lots and lots of bloggers to meet & greet! :)

Hi Erika.
Yes, the vanicream is for eczema. Eczema, Eczema - OMG, we have lots and lots of it here. All my kids have it in various forms. Our fourth child landed us at National Jewish Medical Research Center, he was so bad. But I learned from the BEST how to care for it. Vanicream is their go-to cream. For hand eczema, though, first soak your hands atleast once a day, just in water, for 20 minutes (exactly!!) Then cover in cream, and cover with cotton gloves, or we use socks. Just for a barrier and to allow the cream to really soak in. If you can do it before bed, then you can leave them on all night.

WOW, sorry for the long comment.
I'll post about eczema on my blog soon...Let you know when I do!
