My new best friend

I'm cheap. I'm a stay-at-home-mom. I can't help it.

I despise renting a movie for almost $5 when I could practically buy it for the same price. Netflix sounds fabulous, but sometimes we just don't rent all that many movies in a month because there isn't anything good out there.

Enter my new best friend, REDBOX.

Redbox is every mom's rent a movie at the (literally: RED BOX in the) GROCERY STORE for ONE DOLLAR. Return it the next day by 9PM, otherwise it's another dollar. We just watched Juno last week FOR ONE DOLLAR and then I took a peek at the Redbox website and saw that if you signed up for updates that they would send a code for a free rental to your email. So, we got to see Dan In Real Life for FREE! (Both great movies, by the way!)

Check out Redbox and find out where they're located in your area. I know you could use a night in with the hubby!

I am totally with you on being cheap. When we lived in the States I would buy the Sunday newspaper with double the coupons and then match my coupons to the weekly sales. I saved on average $100 a week in groceries! That's a part time job!

Hi Erika,

Thank you for your comment on my blog.

I've just read through a little of your blog and you are so funny. You've made me laugh and its only 6:50 in the morning...that's saying something!!!

All the best,

I think Redbox is the greatest thing since library cards!!! Do be careful, I just got an email from them that said bad people were copying people's credit card numbers somehow through the Redbox machines!!! I still use them, though!

I think mine has this same machine. I always wondered about it. $1 for a movie? Sound good to me!
